The DeWitt County IT & Compliance Ad Hoc Committee was formed around a 18 months ago, extended this past year, and it looks like it could even become permanent in the near future.
DeWitt County Board Chair Joe Witte reminds that the Committee's purpose is to look internally at County ordinances to make sure they are in compliance with their own rules, as well as strengthen cybersecurity and general IT processes in the County. This included the hiring of Ethan Aughenbaugh as the County's IT Technician.
Witte says early on this year, the Committee was focused on the Compliance side of their responsibilities, and now they are shifting their focus more towards IT. With the Committee's future set to be voted on in November, he says they are thinking about making it permanent.
Witte says that while there will be further discussion on the future of the Committee, he has gotten great feedback from County employees, specifically regarding Aughenbaugh and his efforts.
The DeWitt County IT & Compliance Committee is chaired by Pat Ryan and will have its next meeting on Thursday, August 13th at 4 PM.
