Former Green Bay Packers defensive tackle B.J. Raji released a statement on Monday in which he announced that he is taking a hiatus from the NFL and will not play during the 2016 season. Raji noted that he cannot rule out a return in the future but is excited to be "all in" with his family.

Raji was a first-round pick of the Packers back in 2009 and has been Green Bay's starter at tackle since 2010. The percentage of defensive snaps he played has been slowly dropping since that 2010 season, though, culminating in him playing less than half the team's snaps during the 2015 season. It was the first time that had happened since his rookie year.
