A pair of runs in the sixth inning broke a 2-all tie lifting Rantoul past Monticello 4-2 in Okaw Valley boys baseball action.


Jacob Burton and Austin Wiggins finished 2-for-3 to pace the Sages offense. Burton scored and drove in a run and Luke Stokowski recorded the other Monticello RBI as the Sages drop to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in Okaw Valley play.


Garrett Myers went 5 2/3 on the mound for Monticello, allowing four runs, two earned on nine hits with no walks and ten strikeouts.


Wittig closed things out with an 1 1/3  allowing a pair of hits and a strikeout.


The Sages play in a tournament Saturday at Decatur MacArthur.
