Logan Hislope was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Garrett Myers was strong over five innings on the mound Thursday as the Monticello Sages downed Tolono Unity 9-5 in Okaw Valley Boys baseball action.

Hislope had a triple among his three hits and also scored.

Nathan Graham and Myers were each 2-for-3. Mitch Rhoades, Konnor Bundy, and Graham tallied RBIs for the Sages.

Jacob Burton was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Over five innings, Myers allowed two unearned runs, issued no walks and struck out six.

Bundy closed the door, allowing three runs, two earned on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Unity scored three runs in the seventh to pull within four, but that would be the closest the Rockets would get on the afternoon at Monticello High School.

The Sages are 14-6 overall on the season.

Monticello takes on Warrensburg-Latham this afternoon at Warrensburg-Latham High School.
