Cory Jayne was brilliant on the mound Wednesday afternoon and Alec Lyle delivered two hits and an RBI, propelling the Blue Ridge Knights past Roanoke-Benson 3-1 in Regional semifinal action Wednesday at the Roanoke-Benson Regional.

Lyle paced the offense with his 2-for-3 afternoon that included a walk and a run scored. Thomas Hardesty and Caleb Trotter each drove in a run as well for the Blue Ridge, who will make their second straight Regional final appearance.

Damian Cordes, Ben Williamson, Isaac Trotter, Jayne and Dylan Lytel all provided hits for the Knights, who meet the winner of today's contest between Peoria Heights and Peoria Christian on Saturday morning.

Jayne went all seven innings on the mound. He allowed an earned run on four hits, issued two walks and struck out nine.
