Dismissed Ex-Illini Star Transfers To Oakland

Former Illinois standout Kendrick Nunn has accepted an offer to enroll at Oakland and play his final season of college basketball at the Horizon League school, Nunn's father, Melvin Nunn, told CBS Sports on Wednesday.

Nunn averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds for Illinois last season. But the 6-foot-3 guard from Chicago was dismissed last month after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an allegation that he hit a woman in the head and pushed her to the ground in March.

Nunn will have to sit out the 2016-17 season, per normal NCAA transfer rules.

He's expected to debut for the Grizzlies in November 2017.
