Report Says Jason Day To Ink $10-Million Deal With Nike

The No. 1 player in the world will have a new look pretty soon as Jason Day has signed with Nike, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell. The deal, reportedly for $10 million a year, puts Day in the company's shoes and apparel going forward.

Day, of course, has always been a TaylorMade-Adidas guy, but Adidas is selling TaylorMade. So Day will stay with TaylorMade for clubs and golf balls but jump to Nike for everything else.

Rovell reports the move became possible when Nike suddenly announced last month that it was leaving the equipment business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but one source said the No. 1 golfer in the world will get paid north of $10 million a year. Day's agent Bud Martin of Wasserman did not return a call seeking comment.

This is the first time an athlete has split from TaylorMade-Adidas to Nike.
