Clinton Maroons Defeat Central A&M

In a game heard Friday night on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Central A&M Raiders by a score of 35-26. The Maroons were led by senior quarterback Noah Griffin who was 10 of 17 passing for 213 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Senior Logan Winter had three receptions for 50 yards, a touchdown, and a 48 yard punt return for a touchdown. Winter was named the Country Financial Representative Stephan York Maroons Player of the Game. Senior Alec Cooley had 15 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown. Senior Dalton Whitted had six receptions for 151 yards, and senior Cannan Isaac had a 14 yard interception return for a TD.

 

The Raiders were led by Jameson Smith who was 16 of 31 passing for 178 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions. Keaton Garner had eight catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

 

With the win the Maroons improve to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Central Illinois Conference action. The Raiders fall to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 In the conference.
