Monticello Hosts Undefeated Farmington Saturday

If high scoring, offensive oriented football is up your alley, Monticello will be the place to be Saturday.

The Monticello Sages high scoring offense will be tested Saturday when the host the Farmington Farmers in the third round of Class 3A IHSA football playoffs. Sages head coach Cully Welter says the Farmers offense is almost a mirror image of theirs.

Neither team's passing offense will be new for either defense. Coach Welter says both sides have the advantage of seeing the passing offenses in practice. He feels this will come down to who's defense steups up.

Farmington enters play 11-0 off a 28-18 victory over Elmwood-Brimfield last Saturday evening. The Farmers come from the Prairieland Conference's Blue Division.

Game time Saturday is 2 pm from Monticello. Hear all the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
