The Monticello Sages boys basketball team opens their 2016-17 campaign tonight when the travel to Riverton to take on the Hawks.
The Sages are coming off a 17-9 campaign in 2015-16 where they reached a sectional semi-final.
The Sages graduated leading scorers Zach Fisher and Noah Freeman, and will turn to returning senior starter Isiah Florey along with juniors Luke Stokowski and Calvin Fisher.
With a backcourt of 6'5, 6'4, and 6'3, the Sages will boast a lot of size, but the production of Fisher and Freeman from beyond the arc will be a big question mark if the Sages have success this season.
Coach Kevin Roy enters his 10th season at the helm of the boys basketball program. 18 wins shy of 200 career victories, Monticello certainly has a chance to get him there this season.
