Coming off their third place finish at the Central Illinois Conference Tournament in Sullivan last week, the Clinton Maroons return to CIC action tonight when they host the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals.
The Maroons upset the Cardinals last Saturday, January 28, 54-39 when the Cardinals came into action as the tournament's second seed.
Tonight, the Maroons look to duplicate their performance and conintue to build on a 2-1 week in the CIC tournament with wins over the Cardinals and Tuscola.
Despite those two wins in CIC tournament action last week, they do not count towards their overall conference record, so currently the Maroons sit at 0-3 in conference play and 8-11 overall.
The Cardinals are a half-game back of Decatur St. Teresa in the conference standings, one back in the win column, as both teams are undefeated in conference play.
Warrensburg-Latham enters play 16-5 overall.
Tonight's action from Clinton High School gets underway at 7:30 pm. Hear all the action on 92.3 FM WHOW and online at dewittdailynews.com.
