Sages Upend St. Thomas More

Luke Stokowski and Calvin Fisher each recorded double-doubles as the Monticello Sages used an 18-4 third quarter to open up a big second half lead en rout to a 63-43 win over Champaign St. Thomas More at Monticello High School in Okaw Valley Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Calvin Fisher scored a game high 20 points and grabbed ten rebounds while Stokowski scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, seven offensive, as the Sages dominated the glass, 36-20 and scored 14 second chance points.

 

Jarron Roy and Isiah Florey each had nine points. Florey had five assists and three rebounds as well.

 

The Sabers were led by Albion Francis, who scored 15 points and Nick Fruehling added 13 points.

 

The Sabers shot just 32% while Monticello scored at a 62.5% clip.

 

The Sages improve to 17-5 overall and are 4-3 in Okaw Valley play.

 

The Sabers drop to 10-15 overall and 2-5 in conference.
