The Monticello Sages and Paxton-Buckley-Loda will play the rubber match of what has been an unconventional three-game series between the two squads tonight in a Class 2A Sectional Final matchup at Monticello Middle School in the Monticello Sectional.

 

The two sides met up first in late-December at the Monticello Holiday Hoopla for third place, with the Panthers coming away with a 73-55 lopsided win. 

 

Then on January 19, the Sages won a lopsided contest 59-38.

 

Both games were played at Monticello High School.

 

The Sages defeated Bismarck-Henning 57-38 Tuesday night to advance to the Sectional final while PBL defeated Warrensburg-Latham 51-38. 

 

PBL won the GCMS Regional last Friday and Monticello won the Unity Regional.

 

Tonight's winner advances to the Springfield UIS Super-Sectional to take on the winner of tonight's contest between Quincy Notre Dame and Tremont.
