Clinton Lady Maroons Defeat Lady Sages

In a game heard on WHOW and WEZC, the Clinton Lady Maroons defeated the Monticello Lady Sages by a score of 8-2 on Wednesday afternoon. Ryty DuPont-Barlow was named the Country Financial representative Stephan York Maroons Player of the Game. She was three for three with a double, an RBI, scored a run, walk, and steal. Aspyn Taylor was two for four with 2 doubles, Jillian Miller was two for three with a double and two RBIs, and Tori Wilson was one for three with two runs and a double. Olivia Sanders had the win, pitching for seven innings, two runs, earned six hits, striking out two, and walking zero.

 

For Monticello, Leslie Taylor had the loss, pitching six innings, had eight runs, 11 hits, striking out five, walking two, and hitting one batter. Delaney Hilderbrandt was two for four with an RBI triple, and Skyler Frye was two for three with a double.

With the win the Lady Maroons improve to 5-8 on the season and 1-3 in the Central Illinois Conference. Monticello falls to 5-9-1 overall and 0-2 in Okaw Valley Conference action.
