Maroons Outlast St. Teresa

The Clinton Maroons built an 8-0 lead Monday afternoon with Decatur St. Teresa in town and held on as the Bulldogs rallied for 7-runs in the sixth and seventh innings for a 8-7 win in Central Illinois Conference boys baseball action.
Jake Wade picked up the win, pitching 6.1 innings allowing six runs, though one was earned, on on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk. Wesley Conn got the final two outs for the save with a pair of strikeouts and walks and allowed an unearned run.
 
Conn finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Wade was 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of runs batted in. Parker West and Travis Osgood finished 2-for-3.
 
Seth Gillespey was the losing pitcher for St. T. He finished four innings, allowing five runs, one earned with four strikeouts and no walks. He permitted eight hits.
 
Joey Martini finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Bulldogs. Mac Handley drove in a pair of runs as well.
 
There were a total of nine erros between the two sides Monday and a combined 19 hits. 
 
The Maroons are now 8-10 overall and are 4-5 in Central Illinois Conference play.
