Slow Start Dooms Maroons

The Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals scored four first inning runs, and it would be all the offense they would need as they beat the Clinton Maroons 8-3 Monday afternoon in Central Illinois boys baseball action from Clinton High School.
Reis Kendrick pitched three run ball over six innings, though two runs were earned. He permitted six hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
 
Travis Osgood took the loss, though he was hurt by four errors. He allowed six runs, only two were earned over five innings. He struck out nine, walking three and allowed six hits.
 
Kendrick, Kyle Goeckner, Weston Campbell and Andrew Lung each had a pair of hits for the Cardinals.
 
Jake Wade finished 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
 
The Cardinals improve to 13-9 overall and 8-5 in the Central Illinois Conference. 
 
The Maroons drop to 10-11 overall and are 6-6 in the CIC.
