Tuscola Blanks Maroons

Noah Pierce threw five innings of one-hit ball as the Tuscola Warriors blanked the Clinton Maroons 5-0 in Central Illinois Conference boys baseball action Thursday afternoon at Tuscola.
 
Because of field conditions in Clinton, the game was moved to Tuscola, however, the Maroons remained the home team.
 
Pierce struck out eight and walked four in his five shutout innings. Cole Thomas finished the final two innings with a pair of strikeouts.
 
Jake Wade and Travis Osgood had the only Maroons hits.
 
Lukas Kresin, Andrew Erickson and Haden Cothron each recorded a pair of hits for Tuscola. Brayden VonLakanken had a double.
 
Wade went five innings for Clinton allowing five runs, three earned with three walks and two strikeouts. 
 
Levi Nettles threw two shut out innings. 
 
The Maroons are 10-13 overall and 6-8 in the CIC.
