The Clinton Maroons scored four runs in the second and third innings and that would be enough as they held off Rantoul 9-7 in non-conference boys baseball action Monday afternoon from Clinton High School.
Travis Osgood pitched four innings for the win. He allowed five runs, only three were earned, permitting two hits and issuing four walks. He struck out two.
Levi Nettles finished the final three innings allowing two runs on two hits with a walk.
Mac Hickman paced the Maroons offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in. Wesley Conn was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs batted in. Travis Osgood, Logan Petersen, Matthew Overton, and Cameron Wertz each finished with a pair of hits.
John Frerichs drove in four for the Eagles.
Clinton is 11-13 overall.
