UPDATED: Clinton Maroons Fall to Lincoln Railers

As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons fell to the Lincoln Railers by a score of 6-5 on Thursday afternoon in regional play.  Despite trailing for much of the game, the Maroons pushed three runs across in the top of the 7th to tie the game at 5 each, but Lincoln answered in the bottom of the 7th with the winning run.

 

Jake Wade takes the loss pitching six and a third innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out five, and walking one. Clinton at the plate was led by Jake Wade, who went two for three with three RBIs and two walks. Levi Nettles was one for three with an RBI.

 

Nate Arnold takes the win pitching two and a third innings, giving up three runs on four hits and striking out three. Lincoln at the plate was led by Jacob Conczyk who went two for two with an RBI.

 

With the loss the Maroons fall to 11-15 overall and 6-8 in the Central Illinois Conference. Lincoln improves to 14-18 and will play Chatham Glenwood Saturday for the regional championship.
