The Fighting Illini (2-9 overall, 0-8 B1G West) welcome in-state rival #23/23 Northwestern (8-3, 6-2) to Memorial Stadium on Saturday to close out the season and battle for the Land of Lincoln Trophy (3 pm CT, FS1).
Illinois was throttled at Ohio State last Saturday afternoon, 52-14.
The Illini and Wildcats were supposed to play this game at Soldier Field as a part of a two-year agreement between the two sides but that deal was void when athletic director Josh Whitman took over a year ago.
Northwestern has won six in a row and is ranked 23rd in the country. They blanked Minnesota last week 39-0.
