Former Rochester/Illini QB Wes Lunt seeking NFL gig

Wes Lunt left the legendary Rochester football program with all the potential for playing football on Sundays. Injuries and a departure from Oklahoma State led to Illinois during a rebuilding phase. After spending a chunk of the preseason with the Minnesota Vikings and landing tryouts with the Bengals and Bills, he landed another tryout with the Broncos this month. Lunt says no one was trying to put him on that team's 2017 quarterback carousel...

Lunt says his Vikings audition didn't give him the kind of resume he was hoping for, but the tryouts will pay off, whether he lands a pro gig or not....

Lunt hopes to coach football in the future. He says if he doesn't land an NFL quarterbacking job, he'll likely move on to focusing on his coaching career by late January.
