Zanna Myers scored 15 of her game high 28 points in the second half and the Monticello Sages outscored the Maroa-Forsyth Lady Trojans 23-6 to propel them to a 62-36 win Thursday night in non-conference girls basketball action.

Monticello opened the game with a 10-2 lead but M-F senior guard Kate Beckemeyer hit back-to-back three pointers, and was fouled on the second one, making the free to draw the Lady Trojans within 10-9, but the Lady Sages finished the quarter on a 16-2 run that would open up a 26-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Trojans cut the deficit to 33-23 after a 12-7 second quarter where the Lady Trojans simply made more shots and did not turn the ball over, limiting the Monticello transition opportunities,

But the Lady Sages turned up the defensive pressure and used their up-tempo offense to blow the game open.

Tatum McCall scored nine of her 18 points in the first quarter.

Beckemeyer led the Lady Trojans with 11 points, nine coming in the first quarter.

Maroa-Forsyth drops to 12-11 overall.
