Monticello Girls Third Seed in Iriquois West Sectional

The Monticello girls basketball squad is the third seed in the Iriquois West Sectional in Class 2A girls basketball postseason play as announced by the IHSA yesterday afternoon.
 
St. Joseph-Ogden is the top seed, who defeated Monticello earlier this year. 
 
Fithian-Oakwood is the second seed followed by Monticello and then Champaign St. Thomas More, who beat the Lady Sages earlier this week.
 
The regional sites for the Iriquois West Sectional are Champaign St. Thomas More and Georgetown-Ridge Farm in sub-sectional A.
 
Also in the Iriquois West Sectional, Heyworth is the fifth seed, Argenta-Oreana is the ninth seed, Blue Ridge received the tenth seed adn Tri-Valley is the 11th seed.
 
In sub-sectional B, the Regional sites are Watseka, who is the top seed, and Braidwood Reed-Custer, the fifth seed.
 
Paxton-Buckley-Loda is the second seed while GCMS received the fourth seed. 
 
Elsewhere Class 2A, the Farmington sectional regional sites Havana and Tremont in sub-sectional A, and Knoxville and Hamilton in sub-sectional B. 
 
In sub-sectional A, Eureka is the top seed. El-Paso Gridley is the second seed. Olympia received the seventh seed and Dee-Mack the ninth seed. 
 
In sub-sectional B, Illini West is the top seed. 
 
In the Riverton sectional, Maroa-Forsyth is the seventh seed in sub-sectional B, Warrensburg-Latham is the tenth seed.
 
The pairings for each sectional will be announced this afternoon.
