Mac Hickman pitched six solid innings and the Clinton Maroons took advantage of four errors committed by Shelbyville to win 10-1 in their Wednesday afternoon Central Illinois Conference baseball matchup in Shelbyville.
Hickman struck out 15 over six innings, allowing a run on three hits. Jake Wade closed the door in the seventh with a one-hit scoreless inning of relief.
Hickman finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Parker West drove in two and Wade finished 2-for-4.
Payton Howell paced Shelbyville going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
The Maroons are now 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the Central Illinois Conference.
The Maroons host Central A&M Friday.
