Tuscola Routs Clinton

The Tuscola Warriors opened the game with seven straight runs before Clinton got on the scoreboard and by the time they did, it was too late as Tuscola rolled to a 13-2 six inning win over the Maroons in Central Illinois Conference boys baseball action Wednesday from Clinton High School.
 
Noah Pierce shut out the Maroons over the first three innings, Cade Kresin allowed two runs in two innings in relief and Cameron Ochs finished the game out with a scoreless sixth. 
 
Matthew Overton took the loss for the Maroons. He went five innings, allowed eight runs, four were earned as Clinton committed six errors. He struck out two and walked two.
 
Braden Cross allowed five runs, four earned in an inning of relief.
 
Dalton Hoel finished 3-for-4 with a double to pace Tuscola. Kresin finished 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in.
 
Overton and Tyler West each went 2-for-3.
 
The Maroons drop to 4-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
