Illinois State Splits Saturday Double-Header With Bradley

The Illinois State Redbirds split a Saturday afternoon doubleheader with the Bradley Braves, giving the visitors a 2-1 series win. 
 
Illinois State's won the opener 13-6, before Bradley took the finale 9-3.
 
John Rave went 4-for-8 on the day with three runs scored and a pair of doubles, while Jordan Libman was 3-for-6, also with three runs scored. Rave, Libman, and Collin Braithwaite each scored three times, while Rave, Jack Butler, and Braithwaite drove in three runs apiece.
 
Libman was a perfect 3-for-3 in the opener for the Redbirds, scoring three times and driving in two. Rave went 2-for-3, as the pair combined for five of the team's eight hits in the contest. Hays, Rave, Butler, and McCaw each scored twice, while Rave had three RBI's, and Braithwaite, Jack Butler, and Libman each had two.
 
Brent Headrick got the win for Illinois State, improving to 2-3 on the season as he scattered five hits over his five innings of work, gave up two earned runs and struck out two. 
 
In the finale, Rave and Butler each went 2-for-4, and Miller and Braithwaite were 2-for-5.
 
The Redbirds return to action on Friday hosting Valparaiso Crusaders in the team's final MVC home series of the season.
