As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons remain undefeated after a 23-6 victory over the Shelbyville Rams in the rain Friday night. The Maroons were led on offense by Tyrese Petty with 16 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Ty Berter completed 12 of 22 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, also running the ball seven times for 23 yards. Senior Clayton Welch finished with four catches for 62 yards and two touchdown, plus two interceptions on defense.

 

For the Rams, Emric Massado completed five of 21 passes for 78 yards and four interceptions, also carrying the ball nine times for 69 yards and Shelbyville's lone touchdown.

 

Clinton improves to 3-0 with the win, and 1-0 in Central Illinois Conference play.

Shelbyville falls to 1-2 (0-1).
