10-0 Monticello looks to battle it out in the 2nd week of IHSA Football playoffs with 8-2 Anna-
Last week, Anna-Jonesboro beat West Frankfort 56-28, and Monticello beat St. Joseph-Ogden
50-7. Monticello has a playoff record of 32-20 compared to Anna-Jonesboro 30-21.
Monticello's average margin of victory for the 2018 season is 40.4 points, that is second to
Carlinville's 42.6 points. The Sages have only allowed 69 points while putting up 476 compared to
Anna-Jonesboro's 182 points allowed and putting up 355. The most points in a game Monticello
allowed was 28 points against Class 4A Pontiac. Anna-Jonesboro lost their first two games of their
regular season then won eight straight.
Players to watch out for; Monticello's quarterback Braden Snyder throwing for over 2,200 yards,
and 26 touchdowns. Snyder has also rushed for 480 yards and ten touchdowns. For Anna-
Jonesboro, Damien Crisp fullback rushing for more than 990 yards.
The winner of this game will then play in week 3 against either Greenville or Pleasant Plains.
Monticello vs. Anna-Jonesboro will take place in Monticello, Saturday, with kick off at 3 pm.
