Sages Edge Maroons 52-51

A back-and-forth affair in Clinton Tuesday night saw 17 lead changes and seven ties
before the Monticello Sages came away with a 52-51 victory over the Maroons.
Clinton's Zeke Hickman gave the Maroons a late lead with a go-ahead three-point
shot with less than 20 seconds to play. Then, Monticello's Ben Singleton cleaned up
a barrage of last-second prayers from the Sages with a lay-up to tie the game at 51
before making an "and-one" free throw to seal the victory.

For the Maroons, Hickman led the way with 13 points. Senior Jared Jording
finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Sages had three players finish in double figures Tuesday, including Singleton and
Devin Graham with 14 points each. Ethan John added 10 points in the win.

With the loss, the Maroons fall to 6-11 on the season. The Sages improve to 12-3
after the non-conference victory.
