Clinton's Overton Makes Central Illinois Second Team All-Conference, Nelson Honorable Mention

Clinton senior basketball star Matthew Overton was named to the Central Illinois Conference second team all-conference last week.

 

Additionally, senior Ben Nelson was named an All-Conference honorable mention.

 

The CIC first team was highlighted by All-State selections Connor Heaton from Central A&M and Malcolm Miller from Shelbyville.

 

Heaton was named to Class 1A first team all-conference while Miller was a Class 2A all-state selection.

Heaton helped lead the Raiders to a state tournament appearance earlier this month. 

 

Along with Heaton, A&M's Griffin Andricks and Jacob Paradee were first-team selections. Andricks joined Miller, Heaton and Warrensburg-Latham's Jarius Ingram as unanimous first-team selections.

 

Meridian's Jacob Jones and Tuscola's Jalen Quinn were also first-team selections. Quinn was the lone underclassman to make the first team.

 

Caden Ellis from Sullivan, Austin Fitzpatrick and Christian Stoner from Decatur St. Teresa, Garret Meisenhelter from Meridian and Braydon Von Lanken were second-team selections.

 

Warrensburg-Latham's Tanner Dawson and Shelbyville's Braden Nichols were also honorable mentions.
