The Clinton Maroons are looking to stay hot off a weekend sweep of a Saturday double-header with Ridgeview when they host Tuscola in Central Illinois Conference boys baseball action today from Clinton High School.
The Maroons won the first game 5-1 then the second game 11-1 in five innings.
The Saturday double-header was only the second and third games of the season but it bumped the Maroons to 2-1 overall.
Matthew Overton finished the two games with five hits and four runs batted in. Braden Cross went 3-for-4 in the first game and Parker West had a pair of hits, including a double, in the second game.
Drew Stacey pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning in game one, he struck out 10. Michael Oswald pitched all five innings in the second game allowing an unearned run with 11 strikeouts.
