As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Lady Maroons defeated the St. Teresa Lady Bulldogs by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday afternoon from Clinton High School in Central Illinois Conference girls softball action.
The Lady Maroons made a comeback being down 3-0 in the 1st. Mac Armstrong got the win pitching 7 innings allowing 5 runs on ten hits with a walk, and four strikeouts.
Clinton was led at the plate by Amanda Tool who was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Chloe Griffin was 2-for-3 with an RB, and Savannah Clifton was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
St. Teresa was led by Anna McCarty who pitched 6 innings allowing 7 runs on 10 hits with 6 walks and 1 strikeout. They were led at the plate by Mccarty, who was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Lula Sassano went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
With the win, the Clinton Lady Maroons improve to to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the CIC. They next play Thursday at Sullivan.
