Blue Ridge Looking to Continue To Build Up Football Program

The Blue Ridge Knights are coming off a 3-6 campaign and Coach Bob Sutton is hopeful good buy-in from the summer will pay off this season.

Coach Sutton thought the work accomplished by his team this off-season was as good as he's had it and notes they shouldn't face too many of the challenges of years past, primarily surrounding eligibility issues.

Last year, Blue Ridge implemented a new offense. Coach Sutton says his seniors have stepped up and taken on a leadership role to bring players to the program and to perfect the playbook.

Sutton says he has worked to get momentum in the JFL program to help continue maintaining numbers at the high school level. He feels things are going well at the lower levels.

The Knights open the season hosting Martinsville before road games at Oblong and Tri-County. They'll open the conference slate with a home matchup against Toledo-Cumberland. Of their six conference games, Blue Ridge plays four at home.
