Maroons Hope Offseason Adjustments Lead To More Success

The Clinton Maroons made several adjustments this offseason and Coach Chris Ridgeway hopes it will be enough to get the Maroons back to the postseason.

Garrett Wayne will move to the quarterback position and Ty Berger will adjust to an H-back. Additionally, Coach Ridgeway had some JV lineman move up to varsity, work hard in the offseason and because of that he was able to move a few athletes off the line and int oa skill position role.

Not only were position changes part of  the offseason overhaul, but the Maroons have completely changed the playbook. Coach Ridgeway says it's about adjusting to what the kids do well.

Coach Ridgeway was able to recruit some new faces to the program and says those new faces are going to play a role on the team this year.

The Maroons open the season tonight at Salt Fork tonight at 7 pm. Hear all the action on The Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM/106.5 FM WHOW and online at dewittdailynews.com.

The Maroons will not have a week two opponent, and will accept a forfeit as Pawnee at the last minute went to 8-man football.
