As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons defeated the South Fork Ponies by a score of 50-14 on Friday night. The Maroons were led by the Nate Ennis State Farm Player of the Game Garrett Wayne. Wayne was 11 of 17 passing for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 7 carries for 37 yards. Tyrese Petty had 9 carries for 65 yards and 3 touchdowns. Braden Cross had 6 catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Ty Berter had a 54-yard touchdown catch. Clayton Welch had 3 catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.
The Ponies were led by quarterback Shawn Goebel who was 5 of 16 passing for 35 yards and had 10 carries for 31 yards. Running back Cole Sidwell had 15 carries for 51 yards.
The Maroons are off next week in a bye. Their next game is week 3 at Shelbyville on Friday, September 13.
