Prairie Central Fast Start Dooms Monticello

Prairie Central scored 19 quick points and did not look back dominating Monticello 59-37 Friday night in Illini Prairie Conference football action from Fairbury.

 

Despite falling behind, once the Monticello offense got going, they were very efficient.

 

Nic Tackels threw an early pick-six on the second play of the game but finished 16-for-32 for 208 yards and five touchdown passes and ran nine times for 60 yards and another touchdown.

 

Chris Brown carried the ball 14 times for 108 yards and caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. 

 

Matt Kerr found the end zone twice more Friday night among his six catches and 49 yards. Spener Brown hauled in four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. 

 

Prairie Central improves to 6-2 overall while Monticello drops to 5-3. The Sages conclude the regular season at home next Friday night against St. Joseph-Ogden.
