As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals by a score of 28-6 on Friday night at Warrensburg. Garrett Wayne lead the Maroons with 26 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Wayne was also 5 of 14 passing for 26 yards and an interception. Tyrese Petty had 13 carries for 52 yards, a touchdown, and an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Chance Baldwin was named the Nate Ennis State Farm Player of the Game. Baldwin had two sacks and was a defensive leader for the Maroons.
Cardinals quarterback Braden Matthews was 4 of 19 throwing for 46 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
With the win, the Maroons improve to 6-3 overall and finish 4-3 in the Central Illinois Conference regular season. Warrensburg falls to 3-6 on the season and 2-5 in conference action.
