Bradley Beats D-III Maryville

The Bradley men's basketball team cruised to a 91-58 victory against Maryville on Tuesday night, posting the team's 10th-straight win at Carver Arena and improving to 7-3 on the season.

Junior Elijah Childs led the Braves with 16 points and eight boards, while senior Nate Kennell and sophomore Ja'Shon Henry each chipped in 15 points. Kennell sunk four 3-pointers for his 15 points, while Henry added five rebounds for BU.

Senior Darrell Brown paced the Bradley attack with nine assists as the Braves finished with 27 helpers as a team – their most in 13 seasons. Sophomore Ari Boya helped anchor the BU defense with a career-best four blocks.

After holding a slight edge for much of the early portion of the game, Bradley firmly took control during the final six minutes of the first half. Holding a 26-19 lead, BU scored the final 20 points of the period to head into the locker room with a commanding 46-19 lead. Bradley made 8-of-10 field goals during the stretch, while the Saints missed their final 10 shots of the period to go with three turnovers for the 27-point edge at the intermission.

The Braves picked up in the second half right where they left off in the first. Kennell and Brown sunk triples on the team's first two possessions before Childs added a layup as Bradley extended its run to 28-straight points and a 54-19 lead. The Bradley advantage would reach as many as 41 points, 83-42, before picking up the final 91-58 victory.

Bradley shot a season-best 59.7 percent in the winning effort, including a 6-of-14 mark from beyond the arc (42.9 percent). The Braves also outscored the Saints, 50-20, in the paint with an 18-0 advantage in fastbreak points.

The Braves are back in action on Sunday, hosting Georgia Southern as BU looks to add to its 10-game winning streak at Carver Arena. First tip is at 4 p.m. on ESPN3.
