Clinton, Monticello Open Holiday Hoopla Action Today

The three day Monticello Holiday Hoopla Tournament opens this morning for boys and girls basketball squads across central Illinois.

 

The Clinton Maroons and Monticello Sages boys and girls teams will be in action throughout the three days of action.

 

Starting this morning at 10 am, the Lady Sages will take on Stark County. 

 

At 11:30 am this morning, hear boys action as they take on Oakwood and hear the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.

 

This afternoon, the Clinton Maroons boys basketball squad opens their play taking on Ridgeview at 2 pm. Then at 3:30 pm, the Lady Maroons will be in action also taking on Ridgeview.

 

In the evening session of basketball today, the Lady Sages will take on GCMS then at 7:30 pm, the day concludes when the boys basketball squad also plays GCMS. Hear the boys game on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com. 

 

Kicking action off Friday morning at 10 am will be the Clinton girls taking on Paxton-Buckley-Loda. The boys will then take on PBL at 11:30 am.

 

In the afternoon session, hear Monticello girls action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, when they play Tuscola at 2 pm. Then at 3:30 pm, hear the boys take on Tuscola on WEZC and at dewittdailynews.com.

 

It will also be a double-header on WHOW Friday evening. Starting at 6 pm, hear boys basketball against Neoga. Coach Clay Haurberg was the head coach for the Indians before he came to Clinton and had Monticello boys coach Kevin Roy's brother on his coaching staff.

 

In the nightcap at 7:30 pm in girls basketball, the Lady Maroons will also play Neoga. Again, hear both of those contests on WHOW, at dewittdailynews.com, at Amazon Alexa, and at the WHOW mobile app. 

 

Saturday, hear the Monticello boys placement game at a time to be determined based on their record through their three pool play games Thursday and Friday.
