Monticello Uses Big Third Quarter to Topple Oakwood from Annual Holiday Hoopla

The Monticello Sages outscored Oakwood 21-6 in the third quarter to propel them to a 56-38 win in day one action of the 2019 Monticello Holiday Hoopla from Monticello High School in boys basketball action.

 

Garrett Kepley scored nine of his 15 points in the third quarter and Ryan Reeder scored eight in the frame and Monticello outscored the Comets 15-3 in the final 5:18 of the quarter to take control of the game.

 

Reeder finished with a game-high 16 points, Kepley scored 15 points. Monticello was efficient on offense, dishing out 18 assists on their 24 field goals and committed just ten turnovers. 

 

The Sages dominated the boards, outrebounding Oakwood 28-18. 

 

Monticello will be back in action at the Holiday Hoopla tonight at 7:30 pm taking on GCMS. Hear the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.

 

In the first game of the morning session from the Hoopla in boy's action, Tuscola topped GCMS 56-52.
