Lady Maroons Head to Regionals

Wth a 2A Regional right up the road at Maroa-Forsyth High School tonight, the IHSA has elected to send the Clinton Lady Maroons to St. Joseph-Ogden to kick off postseason play tonight as Clinton takes on Tuscola. 

 

The Lady Maroons will trek across Champaign County to St. Joseph for the first round of the Class 2A girls basketball postseason. The Lady Warriors are the 7-seed in the tournament while Clinton is the 9-seed.

 

This will be the third meeting between the two teams. Tuscola took down Clinton in early December 51-39. Then the Lady Warriors beat the Lady Maroons in overtime, 51-46  in the third-place game of the Central Illinois Conference tournament in late January.

 

Tuscola finished the season 16-9 overall and Clinton was 17-14. 

 

The winner of tonight's matchup will take on second-seed St. Joseph-Ogden Tuesday night at 6 pm.
