Monticello Takes Down Olympia

The Monticello Sages boys basketball team wrapped up the regular season with their sixth straight win, a 57-45 win over Olympia from Stanford on Friday night in Illini Prairie Conference action.

 

Monticello trailed 17-12 after the first quarter but pulled ahead at the intermission thanks to a 17-7 second quarter.

 

Ethan MIller’s game-high 20 points propelled Monticello early and Garrett Kepley scored 11 of his 18 points in the second half to help Monticello maintain their advantage. 

 

Ethan Davis kept Olympia close with 11 of his 18 points in the second half and Hunter Berges scored 15 points for the Spartans. 

 

Olympia drops to 6-25 overall and finishes the conference schedule 1-8.

 

The Sages finish the regular season 18-11 and fought their way above 500 in the Illini Prairie to finish 5-4.
