The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (9-2) hit four solo home runs en route to a 4-2 series-deciding victory over Illinois State (3-7) Sunday afternoon.
A single by Aidan Huggins in the third inning drove in Braedon Blackford to give the Redbirds an early 1-0 lead. The Warhawks responded with three solo home runs off of Sean Sinisko in the fourth inning to take a 3-1 advantage.
Mason Holt added a solo home run of his own in the fifth inning to make it 4-1.Tyson Hays hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to make it 4-2.
Jordan Libman was 2-for-2 with a double for ISU.
Sean Sinisko pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing four runs. Connor Peplow and Derek Salata combined to for the final 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball.
The Redbirds will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on Arkansas at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
