The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (9-2) hit four solo home runs en route to a 4-2 series-deciding victory over Illinois State (3-7) Sunday afternoon.
A single by Aidan Huggins in the third inning drove in Braedon Blackford to give the Redbirds an early 1-0 lead.
The Warhawks responded with three solo home runs off of Sean Sinisko in the fourth inning to take a 3-1 advantage. Mason Holt added a solo home run of his own in the fifth inning to make it 4-1.
Tyson Hays hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to make it 4-2.
Jordan Libman doubled for ISU en-route to a 2-for-2 afternoon. Sinisko finished 4 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits with no walks or strikeouts.
The Redbirds will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on Arkansas at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
