Weather Postpones Illinois State Football Opener

Due to adverse weather conditions, playing field readiness and to ensure a safe environment for student-athletes from both institutions, the Missouri Valley Football Conference has postponed the Illinois State-Missouri State football game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, at Robert W. Plaster Stadium in Springfield, Mo.
 
The game will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 17, and will be played in Springfield. 
 
Valley Football athletically-related activities will take place only to the extent permitted by local environments and applicable national, state, local and institutional guidelines in order to safeguard the health and safety of participants, staff and fans.

 

Illinois State will now open the 2021 season next Saturday, Feb. 27, when the Redbirds host South Dakota for a noon kickoff at Hancock Stadium.
