Monticello Rolls Pontiac

Four players scored in double-figures and Monticello overcame the absence of their leading scorer in rolling to 70-46 win over Pontiac Tuesday night in Illini Prairie boy’s basketball action from the Sievers Center at Monticello High School.

 

Ben Cresap scored a game-high 19 points, Conner Landreth added a career-high 16 points, Joey Sprinkle chipped in with 13 points and Jake Edmondson returned to the lineup by scoring ten points. 

 

Monticello was crips on offense to the tune of 17 assists to just four turnovers and shot 46-percent from the floor for the game and went 7-for-17 from the three-point line. 

 

The defense held the Indians to just 33-percent shooting.

 

The Sages held the rebounding advantage 37-29.

 

Monticello improved to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the Illini Prairie Conference. They return to the hardwood Friday night at Prairie Central at 7 pm. Hear the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
