The Monticello Sages hit the road tonight for an Illini Prairie Conference matchup with Olympia in high school football action.

The Sages have rolled to a 4-0 start to the season with its most recent win a 43-0 rout of Mattoon last Saturday is the second straight shutout for Monticello, following their 40-0 win over Rantoul two weeks ago.

This game comes with a bit of COVID-related drama. Both the freshman and JV contests between the two teams have been canceled. Barring any more developments in the Olympia program, administrators are confident the game will be played.

Administrators expect to know by mid-afternoon today (Friday) about the status of this game, however, in the event it cannot get played, Monticello administrators are working on finding a backup matchup for this week.
