The surprising Monticello Sages have a chance to wrap up an undefeated season hosting St. Joseph-Ogden Saturday afternoon in Illini Prairie Conference football action.

Monticello - perhaps the biggest surprise in the Illini Prairie Conference who has defeated the likes of Bloomington Central Catholic, state-ranked Prairie Central, and Mattoon - enters play 5-0 and off a 42-12 win over Olympia on the road last Friday night.

Chris Brown, who struggled to start the season, has found the end zone ten times in the last two weeks. He has scored nine offensive touchdowns and recorded a pick-six in a victory over Mattoon two Saturday's ago. 

Junior quarterback Joey Sprinkle has come on strong in recent weeks, he finished 7-for-9 last week with 150 yars and two touchdown passes.
