Ashley Armstrong was outdueled by Central A&M's Morgan Malone as the Lady Raiders downed Clinton 3-2 in Central Illinois Conference girl's softball action from Central A&M High School Thursday.

Malone went seven innings and held off a late rally by the Lady Maroons allowing two runs, seven hits, a walk and struck out eight. 

Heidi Humble's two-run double in the top of the sixth inning broke up Malone's shutout bid. Brooke Reeves was 2-for-4 and Savannah Clifton finished 2-for-3 to lead the Clinton offense.

Chloe Jones drove in two runs despite going 0-for-3 and Carson Bugg was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Lady Raiders. 

Clinton drops to 2-6 overall and will host Meridian this afternoon.
