Clinton Downs Central A&M in Boy's Baseball

A four-run fifth innning helped the Clinton Maroons get past Central A&M 7-2 Thursday afternoon in Central Illinois Conference boy's baseball action from Clinton High School.

 

Josh Carter pitched four effective innings for the win allowings two runs, three hits, issued seven walks and struck out six. 

 

Brooks Cluver threw three scoreless innings of relief for the Clinton walking one and striking out two. 

Jaxson White finished 2-for-4, Mason Walker was 2-for-2 and Wes Harrold drove in two runs as part of a 2-for-3 afternoon.

 

Because of standing water issues at Central A&M High School, the game was moved to be played in Clinton. 

 

The Maroons imrpove to 3-5 overall in it's almost exclusive CIC schedule for the 2021 baseball season.

The Maroons host Meridian this afternoon.
